Special Characters provides access to five different palettes:
1. The User Palette can be configured according to your demands. The User Palette now also is available as Arial Unicode.
2. Standard contains all special characters of all regular western fonts like e.g. Arial, Helvetica etc. If another font is defined where the cursor is actually located in the text, the character is shown with the coding of the palette, yet it is displayed in the respective font.
3. Symbol contains all characters of the font Symbol.
4. ZapfDingbats contains all characters of the font ZapfDingbats. ZapfDingbats now also is available as Arial Unicode.
5. Wingdings contains all characters of the font Wingdings.
Hinweis: If the palette doesn´t appear, please check wether the font relating to the palette is installed.
Hinweis: Symbol, ZapfDingbats and Wingdings overwrite the font information where the cursor is located in the text.
You use the Special Characters plug-in as follows:
1. Click on Special Characters>Palette Choice in the FINALYSER menu. This displays a palette containing a variety of common special characters.
2. Place the cursor at the location in the document where you want to insert a special character.
3. Click on the special character in the palette that you want to insert.
Using the arrows at the bottom of the palette, you can flip to different levels containing further special characters. If you need different special characters to the ones implemented in this version, contact SQUIDDS e.K. so that we can adapt the palette to your needs.
To be able to initialize the plug-in correctly, you must have the necessary fonts installed on your system: In the standard version, these are Symbol , ZapfDingbats and Wingdings.
Hinweis: Depending on the operating system, the screen font may not match the printed font, e.g. some of the characters in the ZapfDingbats set. Since the special characters on the palette are shown in the screen font, your printed results may differ from the screen display. If this is the case, contact the font manufacturer.
