Refresh Chapter-ToC
Update Chapter TOC is a plug-in for FrameMaker that is supplied and installed with the FINALYSER. The formatting of <TEXT> following a <p> is not supported. Wrap the <TEXT> that follows in a <p>.
The Update Chapter TOC plug-in allows you to automatically update imported tables of contents in book chapters.
A FrameMaker book (Master Book) contains several components (files). Each chapter (logical unit that starts with a paragraph whose format has the highest counter in the numbering hierarchy) can be structured from one or more successive book components. The start of the chapter must coincide with the start of a component.
A chapter can contain a table of contents that is generated from the files (book components) that form this chapter and that is then referenced.
To be able to automatically generate a chapter table of contents, you need a subbook that is structured from the chapter file(s) and the generated list (TOC).You must create the sub-books before you can use Update Chapter TOC.
Example to illustrate naming of the sub-books:
File1.fm references File1TOC.fm File3.fm references File3TOC.fm File4.fm references File4TOC.fm
After correct installation, the system loads Update Chapter TOC automatically when you start FrameMaker. Now, the Update Chapter TOC item is entered in the FINALYSER menu in FrameMaker’s menu bar of an activated book.
Proceed as follows to update the chapter's table of contents:
1. Activate the master book file.
2. Click on Update Chapter TOC.

Hinweis:
You may only use the chapter number system variable for numbering paragraphs at the chapter level. When generating the table of contents, system resets any other autonumbering (<n+>... instead of <$chapnum>...) in a sub-book.
The generated table of contents must be the last component in a sub-book. The extension (by default TOC) is not relevant. The tool interprets the last component in the sub-book as a generated table of contents.
Take particular care when making the settings for Autonumbering and Page Break: particularly when using chapter numbering (<$chapnum>) in chapters that contain several files.
Apply these settings in the sub-books. The system automatically carries out all necessary adaptations
Updating is in three stages:
Initial generation of the tables of contents
Updating run in the master book to compensate possible page shifts
Second generation of the tables of contents to correct possible changes in
the page numbers.
